A Christian and a scientist die. As they walk into the portal of the heavens, where they are to await their eternal destiny, an angel greets them. Busy at the door, the angel checks his notes over and over, finally sighing as he knows how difficult it will be to explain the dilemma. Mighty assertive, he directs to the Christian “I am sorry sir, but you can not enter the heavens. Not yet!”.

On the other hand, waving his hand in acceptance, the angel asks the scientist to join God. Inside he is to become an integral member of the Eternal Group of Wisdom, where every mystery is explained.

The Christian is outraged! “How could this be!” he exclaims, “This makes no sense at all!” After he has believed and done so much good. He has sacrificed his life by believing in God and following his teachings! He demands an explanation. The Angel explains to the Christian:

"If you are a Christian you must have heard the talents parabola. Three servants received a talent. One of them buried it into the ground so that it could not be found by anyone. The second decided to spend it with his friends while the third decided to invest the talent in such a way that when his master returned from his business trip, he would have more talents than before. The first servant showed his buried talent. For being so lazy, his enraged master got rid of him. The second servant had no talents. This was an even larger atrocity to the master’s standard who then kicked him out instantly. But the talent investor was compensated with eternal gratitude as he had really appreciated the gift he had been given.”

“God gave you a great gift. No other living creature has it! And what do you did with it? You buried it under the ground! Did you believed in god because your mom and the local priest told you that there was a God or because after long hours of reasoning you could not get to another conclusion than that there must be a God? Did you believed everything because it was written in a book or because it made sense? Did you study reality or did you just accept reality to be what the early human ignorance though to be correct? God will not have you just yet.”

“Go back into the same planet Earth you come from and try to use your brain. Only when you have acquired wisdom will you be allowed to enter the heavens and talk to God for all eternity.”

The Christian was relieved! "Thank God! So there is no hell?", he asked.

The Angel smiled and tenaciously replied, "Where do you think you are going?”
